SDRC TODAY
Today, Siddhi Imaging and Diagnostic Center is one of the most active outpatient medical imaging providers and largest physician radiology practices within the Mumbai Western Suburbs and Thane. Our practice consists of over 200 highly-experienced subspecialty-trained radiologists, and that we concentrate on using the most recent diagnostic imaging technologies and bringing them to the community in a reasonable and accessible way. We recognize that new technology can help provide a more accurate diagnosis but must be readily available and also expertly diagnosed. We have our centres established in Vasai, Virar and Nallasopara a historical place and important city in Mumbai’s western suburbs, located in Palghar District . We also have a center in the bustling township of Thane.
DR. AJIT PUNGAVKAR
Dr Ajit Pungavkar studied in Ruparel College in Matunga, Mumbai . He did MBBS from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College in 1985. He completed his postgraduation in Radio-diagnosis from Topiwala National College in the year 1988. He worked for 2 years in Bhagwati Municipal Hospital, Borivali, Mumbai. Post which he started working as a consultant in the Vasai-Virar belt, since 1991. He has travelled everyday since 32 years from Mumbai and given time and dedication to support the medical community in this region.
Dr Pungavkar has provided excellent ultrasound expertise to the community, for all these years and is known for his dedication towards patients and meticulous sonography work.
In 1995, he started his own centre, Siddhi Imaging, in Nalasopara West. Since, then he and his team have provided quality diagnostic services to the community.
He is considered the best sonologist in the region. He has attempted to bring forth the best of technologies to this region and currently heads SDRC which has four high – tech centres in Vasai – Virar area, with Nalasopara representing the oldest of the three.
Today SDRC has 4 Xray and CR systems, 3 Digital Mammography units, 3 OPG units, 6 sonography machines, 4 MRI scanners, 5 CT scanners, BMD and Scanogram centres and many other machines and facilities.
Due to his vision and under his leadership, patients from Naigaon to Palghar get the best of diagnostic services.
SDRC EXPERTISE
The SDRC team is lead by Dr Sona Pungavaker and Dr Ajit Pungavaker Dr.Sona Pungavkar is a nationally known radiologist, national and international speaker, who has worked with Tata Hospital for over 18 years and Nanavati Hospital for 16 years. She is a practicing radiologist for 23 years. Her special interests lie in Advanced Neuro-imaging techniques, pioneer of MR spectroscopy, ASL, MR perfusion, Diffusion Tensor Imaging, MR Breast and Fetal MRI in India. She is part of Disease Management Group of Tata Memorial Hospital for Neuro-oncology, founder member of Indian Society of Neuro-oncology. Teacher of Diplomate of National Board. Teacher for College of Physicians and Surgeons. Fellow of Indian College of Radiology. National Co-ordinator of Raksha-Radiologist for the Girl Child, IRIA. National and International guest speaker. Dr Sona has been published in more than 40 national and international publications and won over 6 awards. With over 20 years of experience in performing scans under sedation for children and adults who are claustrophobic or unable to co-operate; under her guidance, these procedures have been started at SDRC since day one.
